Geological of Cambodia

Cambodia is divided into two different geographic areas, Northeast Zone and Southwest Zone by plains Tonle Sap, which stretches from the northwest to southeast direction along the central regions of the country. Tectonic setting of Cambodia

Cambodia located in the Indochina block with Laos and Vietnam. Indochina block located next to the South China block in the north and Shan-Thai blocks in the West. Border area of each block has fold belt, accompanied by broken subducted zone. Southwest zone and central zone located with Indosinian fold belt between Indochina blocks and blocks Shan-Thai.
